Ever since experimenting with my burrata and tomato toast, I wanted to create a sandwich that incorporated my new favorite cheese.
I have been in love with burrata ever since I ate it at a trip that I took a while back. I honestly don't know why it took me so long to learn about the cheese because it's so unique and creamy.
This bread from the sandwich is grilled individually before adding in the filling. You don't want to cook the burrata or arugula in this case.
If you want, you can also add prosciutto or any other fillings to the sandwich. Since I'm vegetarian, I kept it to just pesto, red peppers, burrata, and arugula, but feel free to experiment!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 red pepper, sliced and roasted
1/4 cup pesto
4 balls of burrata
4 slices of thick French bread
1/2 cup arugula
STEPS:
On the stove, over medium-high heat, grease it with butter. Then, grill the bread until golden brown on each side.
To assemble the sandwich, spread the pesto over as a base, and add the red pepper inside of the burrata balls (the cream and the åarugula. Top with another slice of bread, and serve!
Enjoy!
