Shoofly pie is extremely easy to make, and tastes absolutely delicious!

Shoofly pie is an American pie that dates back to the early 1700s. It's quite simple to bake and doesn't take too long.

It's a gooey molasses-based confection - and was baked in outdoor ovens and left to cool on windowsills.

Some suggest that the name comes from the fact that the sticky molasses formed on the surface of the pie while it was cooling, and attracted flies.

Shoofly pie is also said to have started out as a cake, instead of the pie that we know today.
