As it is abundantly clear from the amount of recipes that I have posted on the blog, I love baking scones.

They are just the perfect breakfast, snack, or late-night treat. I seriously can’t get enough!

This time, I tried experimenting with new scone flavors. I think this might be my first savory scone on the blog and hopefully not the last.

You can never go wrong with the classic cheddar and chive combination in scones. Try serving this recipe by itself or with chive butter.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, cut into cubes
1/2 cup whole milk
1 egg
6 oz. white cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chives, finely sliced
STEPS:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, cheese, and chives. Then, cut in the butter and add the milk, eggs, and oil. Form the mixture into a disc-like shape and cut it into eight pieces.
On your prepared sheet, place the scones two inches apart and bake for 25 minutes.
Enjoy!
