Today, I baked up a lazy daisy cake. Isn't that just the cutest and silliest name ever?

The lazy daisy cake was first mentioned in the cookbook The Good Shepard Cookbook.

The name speaks for itself. The cake is straightforward to make. It can be made in one bowl, and if you are a coconut lover, the cake is perfect for you.

I think it's nearly impossible to mess this cake up. It's perfect for beginners and tastes delicious!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
Cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Topping:
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups coconut flakes
1/4 cup heavy cream
STEPS:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, and line an 8-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, combine all your ingredients for your batter. Pour into your prepared cake pan and bake for 30 minutes.
While your cake is baking, make the topping. Mix the topping ingredients together in the same bowl you used in the previous step and set aside.
Once the cake is done baking, spread your topping over the cake. Broil for around 3 minutes and serve.
Enjoy!
